How is Vitiligo detected?The white patches are the only symptoms of vitiligo but this symptom also indicates some other disease that is why getting it diagnosed on time is mandatory. Vitiligo is confirmed with the reference of personal and family medical history. The doctors may also take a small skin biopsy. Woodlamp is also used in detecting vitiligo.
What does Vitiligo look like?Vitiligo is a precuilar skin condition that begins with small white spots and eventually grows into irregular white patches, with occurrence of white patches on other parts of body. These white patches of vitiligo are irregular with demarcated borders and can appear on any part of skin. However, there is no other change except for loss of skin pigmentation even the skin texture remains same on the occurrence of vitiligo.
