Albinism is some times misunderstood as white spread of vitiligo or vitiligo vulagrius but it is not so, albinism is the absence of pigment, and is always due to genetic predisposition as vitiligo is suspected to be inherited as well. Also, it is suspected that albinos are deficient of enzyme known as tyrosinase that helps the pigmentary cells (melanocytes) to produce melanin (skin pigment). The researchers for vitiligo cure believe that may be some vitiligo patients are also deficient of tyrosine that result in wode spread of white patches as in universal vitiligo but the theory have not been confirmed yet.BACK TO WHITE PATCHES
